Exciting Beading Paraphernalia Sale

 I have been in quite an organizing mode lately. One of the long put-off tasks for me was to look at how many beads I've actually collected. Whoa! Too many for one lifetime.
Time to pass along some of that excess. So I had a great 2-weekend sale, with everything priced to move... and it moved. We beaders know a good deal when they see one.
NOW I have a newly freshened and less cluttered space, about the right number of beads, and my next projects are clarifying themselves.

Mi Cuarto / My Room

Mi cuarto tiene una cama, una mesa que es también mi escritorio, dos sillas, una pequeña cómoda, un ventilador, y un armario con estantería. Tengo mi propio baño, con un simpático loro en la puerta. Hay una tele en la esquina, pero nunca la pongo. Prefiero los sonidos fuera de mi ventana – que no tiene cristal.

My room has a bed, a desk/table, two chairs, a small chest of drawers, a fan, one window, and a closet with shelves. I have my own bathroom, and the door of my shower has a nice parrot. There is a TV in the corner but I never turn it on. I prefer all the sounds outside my window – which has no glass.

 

 

A última hora de la tarde  me gusta poner velas en la repisa. Por la noche todo está en calma. Todo el mundo necesita levantarse temprano para ir a trabajar.
I love to put candles in the window late in the evening. It’s always quiet in the middle of the night. Everyone has to get up early to go to work!

La Casa de Rebeca, la dueña / My landlady Rebeca's house

Esta es la casa de la dueña Rebeca. Ella siempre está muy ocupada con proyectos. Este año está construyendo otro piso arriba para más huéspedes como yo.
La vista desde arriba es maravillosa.

Here is the landlady, Rebeca’s house. She is always busy with projects. This year she is building another story up above, for more guests like me. The view from up there is wonderful.

La Misa para los Niños / The Children's Mass

En la Iglesia de Santo Santiago en Tomatlán, a las 8:00 de la mañana cada domingo hay la misa por los niños. 
Ellos en el coro cantan del desván encima del santuario.

In the church of Santo Santiago in Tomatlán, at 8:00 am every Sunday, children's mass is held. Kids in the chorus sing from this loft over the sanctuary.

Me gusta este sonido particularmente, y pienso que estaría muy agradable tocarlos.
¡Una niña muy afortunada!

I particularly love the sound of the chimes, and think it would be quite fun to play them - like this lucky girl.

 

Aquí es el torre con la entrada adonde los músicos van arriba. Tiene una escalera espiral hecho de piedra. La iglesia es muy vieja, con muros muy gruesos.

Here is the tower with the entrance where the musicians go up. It has a spiral staircase made of stone. The church is very old, with very thick walls.

Mañana, les voy a mostrar unas fotos del exterior de esta bella iglesia.

Las Mujeres Creativas de Tomatlán / Creative Ladies of Tomatlán

He encontrado este grupo de mujeres cuando caminaba una tarde. Ellas me dan la bienvenida, entonces voy allí cada jueves a las 4-7 de la tarde. ¡Es muy agradable!  

I met these ladies while taking a walk one evening. They have welcomed me, so I go every Thursday form 4-7 in the evening. It's great fun!

 

Y no es posible rechazar tamales frescos del Día de la Candelaria.

Candelaria Festival.

Proyecto de Arte por la clase de Profe (Maestro) Pedro / An art project for Professor Pedro's class

Ayer a la escuela Dolores Guerra Arrizon Primaria, conduje una clase de 'imprente por mano' con los estudiantes de Profe Pedro. Estaban muy emocionados los alumnos, y era muy feliz para mi.  Usábamos gomas de borrar que yo compré a la papelería en el centro.  

Día de Santo Valentino es sábado, así que para mucho el tema era ese día. 

Yesterday I conducted a printmaking class for Professor Pedro at Dolores Guerra Arrizon primary school. We used erasers that I bought at the stationary store downtown.

Valentine's Day is Saturday, thus for many that was the theme.
